Brick Hotel – best boutique hotel in Mexico City
Let’s start with the perfect place to stay in La Roma if you’ve got some room in your budget to splurge. It puts you right in the heart of the action with great food, art, and shops all within a couple of minutes of walking. All of the hotels on this list are well-situated for exploration, but this one is at the top of the list for a reason.
Set in a historic building, it combines modern design with the charm of the past. Inside, you’ll find sleek architecture, high-end finishes, and a curated art collection that reflects local culture. Outside, you’ll be right in the heart of some of Mexico City’s most charming architecture.
The hotel offers great service, a rooftop bar with stunning views of Mexico City, and an outdoor pool. That last one is huge if you’re staying in CDMX during the warm months. (As I detail in my things to know about Mexico City, the city actually has a relatively temperate climate thanks to its elevation, but you could definitely get a hot spell.)
I love that the rooms are decorated with local materials for a unique touch. They do book relatively far in advance so for the best prices and availability, book here.
ULIV Roma Norte – best place to stay in Mexico City for longer stays
Uliv Roma Norte is a modern, stylish hotel in the heart of Roma Norte neighborhood. It’s a sleek, minimalist space with a relaxed vibe, perfect for travelers looking for comfort and style without breaking the bank.
Select rooms feature kitchen space and room to spread out, which would be perfect if you were planning to stretch your PTO and work a couple of days while in CDMX. (Afterall, the bar scene is one of the top reasons to visit Mexico City).
Having a kitchen is almost essential if you’re planning to be in the area for more than four days and going to work remotely any of those days, as it will allow you to save some money and be able to manage your schedule if easier if you have meetings to attend.
Rooms are spacious, bright, and well-equipped, offering a comfortable place to unwind. The hotel also has a rooftop terrace surrounded by lush trees, great for enjoying views of the neighborhood and relaxing.
It’s an ideal base for exploring the local culture and the lively atmosphere of the area. They have free cancellation, so if you’re on the fence, I would book now and ask questions later.
Hotel Marbella – best budget hotel in Roma Norte
Hotel Marbella is a charming, budget-friendly hotel located in the historic center of Mexico City. It’s a simple, no-frills option that offers clean and comfortable accommodations at a great price. Your jaw won’t drop to the floor, but if you’re a Basic Economy B like me, you won’t be able to resist the price.
The rooms are basic but well-kept, with all the essentials you need for a comfortable stay, especially 3 nights or less. Some rooms offer views of the city, adding a bit of extra charm. The hotel also has a restaurant that serves traditional Mexican dishes.
Its location is one of its biggest selling points. Hotel Marbella is close to major attractions like Alameda Central, Bellas Artes, and the Zócalo, making it ideal for travelers like us who want to explore the city on foot without spending much on accommodation.
We found this to be a decent value stay, in a safe area and only 10 minutes to some of the coolest spots in Roma and 15 minutes to nearby Condensa.
Just make sure your Mexico City packing list includes solid footwear choices.
Book here and choose an option with free cancellation if you’re on the fence.
Stanza Hotel – best hotel in Mexico City for foodies
Stanza Hotel isn’t necessarily known for its culinary prowess, but it is in incredibly close proximity to some of Mexico City’s best street food, which you should have as much of as possible. Like Hotel Marbella, it’s also a decently priced budget hotel.
It is located right across the street from the beloved churro cafe, El Moro, and home to some of the city’s best pop-up street food vendors that make the best tacos you’ll ever have.
The hotel’s minimalist design and clean, sleek interiors create a relaxing atmosphere. The rooms are spacious, well-equipped, and designed for comfort, making it easy to unwind and take some Tums after a day of eating more than you thought possible.
One of the standout features is the rooftop bar, where you can enjoy drinks and take in views of the city. In addition to the food proximity, the hotel is also centrally located to explore nearby museums, galleries, and parks.
It’s only a 10 minute walk to Arena Mexico if you plan to attend a Lucha Libre fight (which you totally should fit in your Mexico City itinerary).
Book your stay here and start dreaming of the churros. Seriously. They’re that good.
NaNa Vida CDMX – best budget boutique hotel in Roma Norte
Nana Vida CDMX is a trendy boutique hotel located in the middle of a hipster’s paradise that doesn’t come with a huge price tag.
It stands out for its blend of contemporary design and local cultural influences, creating a warm and stylish atmosphere. The hotel has a relaxed, artistic vibe with a focus on comfort and aesthetics.
The rooms are modern, spacious, and thoughtfully designed, offering all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. Many rooms feature unique touches like local artwork and cozy decor. Like others on this list, NaNa Vida also has a rooftop terrace, perfect for enjoying the city views and relaxing with a drink.
Book your stay here now since they fill up fast (you can always select free cancellation options if your plans change).
Hotel Luca – best hotel to stay in Condesa Mexico City
I recommend staying in Roma Norte, but Condensa is a close second. It’s a trendy neighborhood that is a little less hipster than Roma Norte but equally as safe and trendy. This is a great option if you plan to spend time exploring all of the different attractions in the sprawling Bosque de Chapultepec as it is a bit closer.
Hotel Luca’s rooms are comfortable and equipped with everything you need for a relaxing stay. Some rooms even have private terraces where you might have a few of the beautiful park with a towering fountain across the street. The hotel also features a small but charming courtyard where guests can unwind after a full day of experiencing all of the many things there are to do in Mexico City.
Condesa is known for its tree-lined streets, vibrant cafes, and art galleries, making Hotel Luca a great base for exploring the neighborhood. You’re also close to other areas like Roma and Polanco, which are filled with great restaurants, shops, and cultural spots.
Hotel Luca is perfect for travelers who want a stylish and quiet place to stay in one of Mexico City’s most lively and fashionable areas. Book here today!
Seriously, I know I give Roma Norte a lot of love, but Condensa is fabulous. You could spend all day sitting on the sidewalk cafe tables.
No matter what type of stay you’re looking for, Roma Norte has some of the best hotels in Mexico City. Whether you’re looking to splurge at the Brick Hotel, need a home base for working remotely at Uliv Roma Norte, or want a budget-friendly option like Hotel Marbella, there’s something for everyone.
Foodies will love the proximity of Stanza Hotel to amazing street eats, while Nana Vida CDMX offers a stylish yet affordable boutique experience. And if you’re venturing into the nearby Condesa neighborhood, Hotel Luca is a fantastic choice for a quieter, charming stay.
So, whether you’re in this huge city for culture, food, or just to relax, Roma Norte Mexico City hotels have you covered. Book your stay and enjoy the best that Mexico City has to offer!
